THE LOCATION St. Gervais-les-Bains is a small spa town in the Haute Savoie in south eastern France. With Mont Blanc as its backdrop, it has a significant year-round population, a weekly market, and many historical buildings which allow it to retain the charm much sought-after in the Alps. The town is perhaps best known for tourism, and has been a popular holiday destination due to its beauty and location for well over 100 years. Snow-based sports are of course the main draw in winter. The 450km of ski pistes that make up the Evasion Mont Blanc can be accessed directly from the brand new L'Alpin gondola located some 500m from the apartment. This is reached easily on foot or is a short hop on the free ski bus which stops outside the building. The summer sees tourists arrive to explore the fair weather alpine activities on offer such as mountain biking, climbing, hiking, rafting, paragliding and lake swimming. Others come seeking a more relaxing holiday, perhaps to ride on the historic Mont Blanc Tramway, to bathe in the healing waters of the natural thermal spa, or to visit the nearby world-famous towns of Chamonix, Megeve and Annecy. Of course, the wonderful variety of shops, bars and restaurants in St. Gervais also help to make it the perfect year-round destination. St. Gervais-les-Bains is located approximately 50 minutes drive form Geneva airport. The motorway junction and the main SNCF station, with direct trains to Paris in just 4 hours, are a 10 minute descent from the town in neighbouring Le Fayet. The new Le Valleen gondola and the Thermes lift connect the station to the town centre for those arriving on foot.
THE ACCOMMODATION 15 La Residence offers something a little different to the typical alpine holiday apartment and more space and flexibility than a hotel room. Accommodating up to 6 guests in a unique and stylish environment, it is perfect for either a relaxing or action-packed holiday at any time of the year. Period features including high ceilings, panelled doors and wrought iron balconies combine with contemporary furniture, interesting artwork, ambient lighting, thick-piled carpets, 21st century technology and a simply stunning location to provide a very comfortable and enjoyable experience for our guests. With a floor area of 73 square metres, the accommodation comprises a large open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area, two double bedrooms, a bunk room, bathroom, shower and separate WC. There are also balconies with mountain views to each of the bedrooms and to the kitchen. The large living room offers a great space for entertaining or relaxing, and the L-shaped sofa can be quickly converted into a double bed if needed. A Smart TV provides entertainment via Netflix, Amazon and Apple TV amongst others, and of course WiFi is available throughout the apartment. The kitchen is fitted with integrated appliances, including a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and induction hob, and is fully equipped with generous numbers of pots, pans, dishes, crockery and cutlery. Underfloor heating and a highly efficient water heater ensure total comfort in the bathroom and separate shower cubicle, and there is a further separate WC to avoid bottlenecks at wash time! The apartment is located on the first floor of the beautiful former hotel building, accessible via a lift from the foyer. On street parking is available immediately outside the building or in the carpark for the Tramway du Mont Blanc located just a few steps away.
